Original Creation

Subito's swim babe

Voy Kay 10 May 2020

Before my very first oil painting on canvas (Early December 2019), I only painted one earlier and that was beginning of the 21st century (I have NO recollection of any correct date/year). The canvas used was a 12"x16" inch and was done with acrlyics.
The title might seem a bit odd yet this one was copied from one of my favourite modern date artists, an Italian living and working in Spain, named as FABIO SUBITO. I own several original paintings from him as well as some reproductions. His style is close to Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein (the latter is a huge favorite of mine!!). So I painted one of his pool sceneries with a swimming lady in it. As mentioned, only acrylics were used and it's not a bad painting but I should not have used any white in there!. The whole thing was varnished afterwards and until last week, it hung in my living room but is now replaced by a Bob Ross reproduction. I wanted to post this one here since it will soon dissappear today in a paintings box in my attic.
Hope you all might like this creature .... pardon me .... creation!

By the way, this one was signed with the initials KM (my real name initials) instead of 'Voy' since I'm only using the artist name 'Voy Kay' since about a decade or so.

Your unique masterpieces never bore me. I like this work because it feels like water.

Thanks Jin, it's about the best compliment I could have on this painting!!! New work from me is delayed, since I lack ….. motivation!!!!!!

Thanks for the new names Voy! Unfortunately could not find Fabio paintings online as it takes to car photographs. Style is very unusual here, but I certainly see links to your Art. I did not catch immediately it is a woman, but realized it was water. I will try to read more about Fabio.

Dear Sunnylady,
20 years ago, when you typed his name, it showed dozens of links and paintings but since quite some years …. all is empty. My best guess he either changed names or passed away.
I did found some old info of the auction house in Berlin where I bought two original of him and early 2000, they were worth 4100 Euros. I remember well that I bought both for just under 250 Euro at the time. So …. they are quite valuable and will remain in my house on display. Hopefully Felix will add the option soon that we can post more then one picture per topic/painting so that I can share those with the world.
I have some 98 works from him digitally stored (I own four of those in real and reproduced two others myself!) and hope to share those one day.

Thank you for your interest, if I can …. I will try to paint something new still this month…. !
